SMS Access (Credit Card Bill Detection)
MoneyNova includes an optional feature that helps you track credit card bills automatically. This feature is off by default and only activates if you turn it on yourself from the Credit Cards screen in the app.
What we access: If you enable "Detect bills from SMS," the app requests permission to read incoming SMS messages on your device.
What we do with it: Each new text message is scanned on your device only, checking for bill-related keywords (such as "due," "amount," "Rs," "INR," or "₹"). If a message looks like a credit card statement, we show you a notification and a one-tap prompt to review it — nothing is saved to your account until you confirm it.
What we don't do:
We never read messages already on your device — only new ones that arrive after you turn the feature on.
We never transmit, upload, or share the content of any SMS message with us or any third party. All scanning happens locally on your device.
We never send SMS messages ourselves; the app only ever reads them.
We never save a bill without your explicit confirmation.
Your control: You can turn this feature off at any time from the Credit Cards screen, which immediately stops the app from reading any further messages. You can also revoke the SMS permission at any time from your device's Settings.
This feature is only available on Android.
